The 2016 CME Group Tour Championship wrapped up in Naples, Florida this past Sunday. The Tiburon Golf Club hosted the LPGA tour from Thursday, November 17th to Sunday, November 20th for a weekend of surprises, a bit of drama, and great golf.

LPGA in Naples, Florida

One of the biggest surprises of the day was first-time LPGA Title Winner, Charley Hull. The 20-year-old from England ended with -19.

Feels great to be a winner on the LPGA tour, Hull told NBC Golf. It’s wicked to do it at 20.

There were plenty of winners at the LPGA tour! Ariya Jutanugarn won the CME Globe $1 million jackpot, the Rolex Player of the Year Award and the LPGA money-winning title.

My dream come true, Jutanugarn said. I never think my name can be on this trophy, and, right now, I’m really proud of myself.

Not every face was a smiling one by the end of the tournament, but the spirit of the game lives on with the professionalism and sportsmanship we all saw on Sunday from both the winners and those who didn’t quite meet their target.

Another winner was the weather! Naples, Florida has been home to the tour for the past 4 years, and will continue to host the fantastic sport in the future.

Tiburon and the Ritz-Carlton are wonderful partners and hosts to CME Group as well as the LPGA Tour, Dennis Baggett, Senior Director, LPGA Tour Properties told Naples Daily News. We couldn’t ask for a better home here in Naples. The tournament has begun discussions for a continued partnership for many years to come. We hope to be able to provide further announcements in the coming months.
